Economic Advisory Section (EAS) under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MOPSW) is headed by Senior Economic Advisor.

The section look after the works related to; -

  1. Free Trade Agreements(FTAs): Finalizing mandate after consultation with stakeholders which is forwarded to Department of Commerce
  2. Taxation Issues of the Industry to be persued with D/o Revenue
  3. Preparation of Monthly / Annual CAPEX Statement: It includes expenditure in the form of GBS, IEBR & PPP of MoPSW
  4. Preparation of Output/Outcome Budget monitoring framework (OOMF) w.r.t. MoPSW: DMEO, NITI Aayog in coordination with Ministry has developed a OOMF for Central Sector, Centrally Sponsored Schemes with a view to bring focus on “Outcomes” in addition to the “Output”
  5. Preparation of IEBR: Preparation of yearly statement for MoF (Budget exercise), it includes Revised Estimates(RE) and Budget Estimates(BE).
