The Port Human Resource Division (PHRD) is responsible for establishment, personnel, and labour-related matters of all Major Ports. Its functions include the appointment of Chairpersons, Deputy Chairpersons, and Heads of Departments of Major Port Authorities, as well as Board-level Directors of Kamarajar Port Ltd.
PHRD also manages the constitution of Port Authorities Boards, service and administrative issues of port officers and employees, rotational transfers, service regulations, pensionary benefits, disciplinary cases, foreign training, issuance of pilot licences, monitoring of APARs, implementation of Special VRS and Productivity Linked Reward Schemes, and pay and wage revisions for port officers and employees.
